Job description

As the name suggests, the retail support department support the efficient functioning our retail stores, covering roles such as merchandising, recruitment and training to managing Store staffing systems. This really is a department where there is a role for everyone.

I first started with Sports Direct 27 October 2001 as a casual sales assistant and quickly moved to Fulltime sales assistant and Delivery Supervisor in the space of a month, I then worked in a lot of stores across the area before moving to Floor Supervisor. I spent time in many stores as I would always move about when needed to help where ever needed it. I have been up and down the country on installs and refits and store pickups from as far south as the Isle of Wight to the Midlands.

In May 2014, I was given the opportunity for a trial in Retail Support at head office, and after 2 days was asked to stay. A month later I relocated from Essex to the Midlands to further my career in Head office.

Originally when in store, I wanted to get a Sports Direct Email and to get my name on the phone. I now have that. Next, I want to work on becoming more involved in the office. My limits are endless and I want to progress as much as I can in a Company I don't ever want to leave!

Sports Direct is a big family, it has been with me for 13 years and have met some amazing people in that time. From fellow members in store to the big names in the office. It’s been amazing for me, ever since the decision to move to Shirebrook. I now see the company in a bigger light than what I did before, you now get to see how the engine works and all the great people that help keep it running smooth. It has given me a safe and secure way of life which no other company can give!

About you

There are many different roles within retail support, from recruitment training, so administrative roles covering store processes, each come with their own requirements and challenges. But what they are have in common is the need to communication effectively to all levels, the passion to make a difference and the drive to succeed.
