Job description

Working in the Retail Projects department provides opportunity to progress your career within Retail Store Design / Project Management for the Sports Direct.com Group, with many fascia’s you will be supporting the Head of Retail in owning and developing the Retail Plan, ensuring activity from all functions is represented and all deliverables captured, alongside timings, a fast pace and ever changing environment.

Beatriz Gomez – Assistant Project Manager

I have been in this winning team for 1 year and 8 months now. I started as a trainee in the Projects department and as of a month ago, I have become an Assistant Project Manager. Sports Direct is a thriving company that is not just growing itself but allows their employees to develop at the same time.

Being part of this department is cracking. People always say that our stores come out of the blue, but it is not like that, there is more here than meets the eye. Behind the scene, there is a really competent team that see eye to eye and works hard and efficiently, and as a perfect machine, to make things happen when we want them to happen. This job involves working with suppliers and contractors (who are charming), planning schedules and deliveries, controlling costs and designing or checking plans, time and time again. What can I say? I love it, I am hooked!

Working here not only has given me an opportunity to broaden my understanding of the construction sector but also has given me an insight into an exciting retail market. “The future is promising”, is what everyone says here and judging by the company development and my progress so far, I have to agree.
